Garland Sticks by; Nicole Lumpkin

Children love dancing to holiday music and always have LOTS of energy when it is chilly outside.  Here is a quick idea: make ribbon sticks using tree garland. Staple about 2 feet of garland onto a popsicle stick-you can tie a bell at the end if you want it to make sound. Make one for each child, then put on holiday tunes and let the children can shake them, wave them, and spin in fun circles.

There are so many wonderful holiday books to share this season. The classic story of The Night Before Christmas is wonderful and available in several forms, including pop-up!  Here are a few others that we thought you would to read with your children:

Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner

Llama Llama Holiday Drama by Anna Dewdney

Elf on a Shelf by Carol V. Aebersold and Shanda A. Bell (comes with a stuffed elf)

K is for Kwanzaa: A Kwanzaa Alphabet Book by Juwanda A. Ford

Biscuit’s Hanukkah by Alyssa Satin Capucilli
