“Catch the Gingerbread Man…If You Can!”

This is a fun game that children of all ages will enjoy.

Step 1: Read the classic story “The Gingerbread Man” to your child, or have a play-date and invite several children to enjoy the fun. The version by Jan Brett is my personal favorite.

Step 2: Buy or make about a dozen gingerbread men. Click here for a great recipe.

Step 3: Hide little notes from the Gingerbread Man around the house. Start in the kitchen. Open the oven to find an empty cookie sheet and a note from the Gingerbread Man that says…”Catch me, catch me if you can, you can’t catch me in the…. (a room in your house), because I’m the Gingerbread Man!” Encourage your child to hurry as fast at they can to the next room. In each room they should find another note from the Gingerbread Man, telling them where to go next. Hide the notes in 3-4 rooms, or more, depending on how long you think your child will enjoy the game. The last note should bring them back to the kitchen, where the Gingerbread men have finally given up, and are waiting on a plate for your child to enjoy eating.

Step 4: Eat and enjoy! Click here to see a slide show from our Gingerbread Man adventure.
